DESCRIPTION: APW - Rockford, with rare 24 hour dial and mvt making one hour hand revolution per day, 9-11J, 18S, coin silver HC recase with nickel cuvette, "Chas. Cook. Fifth and Smith Streets. Cincinnati O." marked white enamel SS dial with staggered 1 to 24 hour numerals with separate chapters for even and odd numerals, transitional style SW-LS with retained KW arbor, gilt mvt, s#59033. A rare and very attractive dial, we have observed this 24 hour style dial primarily among early production Rockford examples such as this.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, winding mechanism occasionally fully releasing tension unless crown is held to prevent this suggesting a possibly click or click spring issue, overhaul recommended for this issue, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, some scattered fine to micro-fine scratches and small surface spots, one barrel bridge screw a darker color than other; dial with faint hl at 10, patched edge chip at setting lever area, small edge flake or chip at 17, some scattered mild fine to micro-fine scratches; fine hands, hour and minute of mismatched styles, minute with oxide and finish loss; case shows ample wear, scattered dings, substantially reduced engine turning and engraving detail with areas of full loss; tight bow thinned somewhat at top, replacement crown shows light wear and seats somewhat high on pendant; glass crystal with some glue excess at its seat.
